OUR VISION

We know real change happens when we unite around shared values, amplify our collective voices, and work together!

The current leaders of Bridgeport’s Democratic Party have kept the doors closed for too long. They don’t have a website. No one can find their names. You never know where - or when - they are meeting. And they have refused to issue a budget for the money they raise from Democrats like you and me.

We want to change that. A vote for us is a vote for the following:

KEY INITIATIVES
Quarterly "Meet The Democrats" Community Meetings: These meetings will be open to all Democrats in our district to discuss priority issues, develop a shared platform and agenda, and answer the question "What does it mean to be a Democrat in Bridgeport?"
A Public Website: This website will be updated regularly with meeting dates and locations, ways to stay engaged in party activities, opportunities to get involved and get out the vote for candidates, and contact information for all Town Committee members.
Strong Representation at the citywide DTC Meetings: When the full Democratic Town Committee holds its meetings, we will deliver strong representation for our district. The 130th has led the way over the years on standing up to corruption and standing for good government. None of us are beholden to "The Machine," so we will not sit idly by. We will make sure YOUR voices and concerns are brought into the room.
A Transparent Endorsement Process: We promise to design and publicize an open and transparent endorsement process for local office - like City Council, Board of Education and Mayor. The process will be open to all Democratic candidates. This way, candidates will all have a fair and equal opportunity to receive the Democratic Party endorsement. And voters won't be left in the dark about how certain candidates ended up on their ballots!
Strong Challenges to abuses of power at citywide DTC Meetings: In 2024 and 2025, the Connecticut State Party upheld multiple complaints filed by local Democrats against the current party leadership. The complaints proved that the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee - under the leadership of Chairman Mario Testa - has not been following state and local rules. We will work to ensure that the rules are followed and that abuses of power are challenged in real time.
Ongoing Activities that grow the party:
Political parties are only as strong as their members are active and engaged. Many people are opting not to register with the Democratic Party at the local level because they don't believe the party can improve their lives. We promise to host ongoing activities - from Town Halls, to rallies, to door-knocking campaigns, and more - that will connect 130th residents with local, state, and national issues and politics.
